About
I am, currently, writing my doctoral dissertation, titled Material Cultures of Mobility Security in the European Neighbourhood at the School of Political Studies, University of Ottawa, Canada. This project is supervised by Mark B. Salter.
In the summer of 2011, I co-edited a book with Mark B. Salter titled Research Methods in Critical Security Studies: An Introduction. The book is now in-press with Routledge and will come out in October 2012.
My main research interests are:
External governance of the European Union - The Enlargement and the European Neighbourhood Policy
Security studies - Securitization theory, corporeal and new-material approaches.
Mobility governance - Visa regimes, airport/border security, and mobility technologies.
Similarly, I take part in a number of academic organizations and projects in different capacities:
★International Political Sociology Section of International Studies Association as the Communications director (2009-Present).
★International Political Sociology as a member of the Editorial and Communications team. (2012-Present)
★Canadian Critical Security Studies community as a founding member (2009-Present).
★International Collaboratory on Critical Methods in Security Studies as the head of the Visuality cluster (2010-Present).
★Migration and Asylum in Europe and EU-Canada Relations as a researcher (2009-2011).
