Julie Perreault termine un doctorat en études politiques à l’Université d’Ottawa. Elle a complété des études de deuxième cycle en science politique à l’université de Montréal (Foucault et la question éthique), et en philosophie à l’université d’Essex, UK (Rousseau, l’égalité et la « volonté libre »). Ses recherches actuelles portent sur le féminisme, l'éthique du « care », et la pensée autochtone américaine. Elle s’intéresse aussi à la rhétorique, à la théorie de la mise en abyme, et aux études cinématographiques.
Julie Perreault has been researching a PhD in Political Studies at the University of Ottawa since 2005. She has a masters degree in political science from the University of Montreal (her dissertation was on “Foucault and the question of ethics”) and a second masters in philosophy from the University of Essex, England (her dissertation was on “Rousseau, equality and ‘free will’”). Her doctoral research focuses on the question of “care”, which she approaches from the perspective of social ethics and psychology. Her research also embraces ideas and writings from Canadian Aboriginal thinkers. She has additional research interests in rhetoric, "mise en abyme" theory, and cinematographic studies.
